Process Technology Teacher - CTE
Job Description
Primary Purpose:
The teacher will be responsible for providing students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in process technology and energy courses. The teacher will also prepare students to develop the competencies and skills required to earn various NCCER certifications. Important job functions include teaching the curriculum and managing student behavior/safety within classroom/shop settings.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification/ Experience:
Option 1:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned.
Option 2:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Two years of full-time wage-earning experience within the past 10 years in an approved occupation for the classes you will be teaching.
Option 3:
An associate's degree from an accredited institution
Two years of full-time wage-earning experience within the past 10 years in an approved occupation for the classes you will be teaching
Option 4:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Five years of full-time wage-earning experience within the past 10 years in an approved occupation for the classes you will be teaching.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficiency in safety, handling, and proper use of hand tools and power tools used in the career and technical industry.
Ability to effectively communicate and work with students, peers, parents, administrators, business partners, and others in the community.
Ability to prepare students for success in NCCER Core and Instrumentation exams.
Community partnerships in the related industry that will allow students to connect with Work-Based Learning experiences.
Knowledge of the refining and chemical processes industry practices and the ability to prepare students for available careers.
Salary : Teacher / 10.5 Months
