Job Description

Primary Purpose:
Responsible for the operation, utilization and operator maintenance of assigned school bus vehicles. Manages the allocation of personnel and equipment resources for transportation support. Exercises direct supervisory control of assigned drivers and/or monitors. Inspects, evaluates and implements quality control measures for both personnel and equipment assigned.
 
Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High School diploma or GED;
Texas CDL (B) with passenger and school bus endorsements, preferred;
DOT driver certification, preferred;
TEA Region 4 Texas School Bus Driver Safety Training Instructor, preferred;
TEA Region 4 Master Instructor, preferred;
Successfully completed TEEX Train the Trainer course, preferred;
Maintain acceptable driving record;
Ability to read and understand English;
Ability to pass DOT physical and employee physical performance test

 
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to:

  • Perform basic leadership responsibilities and practice sound decision-making processes;
  • Task organize independently or with limited supervision;
  • Set a good example for subordinates;
  • Be technically and tactically knowledgeable in all facets of school bus transportation;
  • Exercise effective personnel management techniques;
  • Cultivate good work ethic and instill teamwork in subordinates;
  • Comprehend and execute basic computer tasks;
  • Demonstrate strong communication, administrative and organizational skills;
  • Execute both implied and specified duties commensurate with position

 
Experience:

Five years previous experience in school bus or related transportation field preferred. 
 

Salary: AP PG1/ 225 Days
Starting: $50,657
