High School Math Instructor
Job Description
This position is for a high school math teacher.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
2. Valid Illinois teaching certificate
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
Job Goal: To create a dynamic learning environment that promotes student engagement, academic growth, and social development. Provide effective instruction and assessment based on the district curriculum and educational standards.
Performance Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership:
- Plan and deliver lessons that align with district curriculum and educational standards.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters student learning and well-being.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to meet individual needs.
- Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and inquiry-based learning.
- Integrate technology and other innovative tools to enhance instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement instructional strategies.
Student Development:
- Foster a supportive and respectful classroom culture that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Set clear expectations for behavior and academic performance.
- Provide guidance and support to students as needed.
- Encourage student engagement and active participation in class activities.
- Recognize and celebrate student achievements.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments to gauge student understanding and progress.
- Analyze assessment results to inform instructional planning and differentiation.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their work.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and classroom activities.
