Holy Cross Academy is seeking a dedicated, faith-filled Middle School English Language Arts Teacher to join our professional learning community. The ideal candidate is passionate about literature, writing, and language development, and is committed to forming students academically, morally, and spiritually in accordance with our Catholic mission.

Responsibilities:

• Teach English Language Arts to middle school students using a classical approach that emphasizes grammar mastery, close reading of rich texts, logical analysis, and clear, persuasive writing
• Guide students through classic and age-appropriate works of literature, including novels, poetry, drama, and non-fiction
• Develop engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum
• Foster a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, respectful dialogue, and a love of literature
• Integrate Catholic values and Gospel-centered principles into instruction and classroom culture
• Assess student progress through varied instructional strategies and meaningful feedback
• Communicate regularly and professionally with parents, colleagues, and administration
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
• Support the social, emotional, and spiritual development of students

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification
• Experience teaching middle school English Language Arts preferred
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of the Church
• Practicing Catholic preferred (all candidates supportive of Catholic teachings are encouraged to apply)
