K-12 Intervention Specialist
Job Description
AEA transfer requests via internal applications will be accepted until 2:15 pm on 5/11/26
External applications will be accepted until filled.
Salary: In accordance with the AEA Negotiated Salary Schedule
Reports to: Director of Special Education, Building Principal, Director of Curriculum, and Superintendent
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Teaching License: (K-12) Intervention Specialist; (K-12) Education of Handicapped; (P-12) or (K-12) Alternative Intervention Specialist
- Experience teaching students with disabilities preferred
- Performance evaluated in accordance with OTES 2.0 Framework
Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Perform all duties/responsibilities in accordance with Austintown Local School District Policy and Procedures
- Follow and execute the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Special Education, Building Principal, and/or the Superintendent
The successful candidate must have the following on file before starting:
- Appropriate and valid Ohio teaching credential
- Current favorable State and Federal background checks
- Official Sealed Transcripts
- Negative drug screen
Employees must follow all board policies, all state and federal laws, and the Ohio Code of Ethics as established by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of this position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
The successful candidate must complete all mandatory compliance courses assigned by the administration annually.
