K-12 Science Coordinator (2026-2027)
Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Provide strategic leadership, coordination, and support for the district's K-12 science program to ensure high-quality, aligned, and research-based instruction that improves student learning outcomes in science. Support campus administrators and teachers through curriculum development, instructional coaching, assessment analysis, intervention planning, and professional learning focused on effective, guaranteed, and viable delivery of K-12 science instruction.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Master's degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong knowledge of elementary and/or secondary Science curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and state accountability systems related to K-12 science and the vertical alignment of those science TEKS
- Ability to analyze student achievement and assessment data to improve instructional effectiveness
- Knowledge of evidence-based science instructional practices and intervention strategies
- Ability to develop and deliver professional learning for adult learners
- Strong organizational, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Ability to support differentiated instruction and hands-on learning in authentic settings for science instruction (including the 5E Model, and other research-based instructional models)
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience in elementary and/or secondary science
Demonstrated instructional leadership experience (department chair, instructional coach, AP, etc.) Experience with curriculum development and assessment design Experience analyzing student achievement data, preferred
Work Schedule: 221 days
Salary: Pay Grade 4 - Administrative/Professional Hiring Schedule
