Position Overview
The Director of Communications & Community Partnerships leads the district's communications, engagement, and partnership efforts. This role shapes how the district communicates with families and the community, strengthens public trust, and builds relationships that expand opportunities for students.
This is a highly collaborative, hands-on position that blends strategic thinking with daily execution. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller, relationship builder, and communicator who thrives in a mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Storytelling
- Lead district communications across internal and external platforms
- Develop clear, consistent messaging that highlights student success and district priorities
- Manage district website, social media, and digital communications
- Support communication around district initiatives and community priorities
Community Engagement & Trust Building
- Strengthen relationships with families, staff, and community stakeholders
- Support transparent, timely communication that builds trust and confidence
- Represent the district in community-facing communication efforts
Partnership Development
- Build relationships with local businesses, civic organizations, and higher education partners
- Support student opportunities such as internships, mentorships, and workforce experiences
- Connect community resources to student learning and future readiness
Marketing & Awareness
- Support awareness of district programs and innovative learning opportunities
- Promote district strengths, achievements, and student pathways
- Assist in communication of new initiatives, including virtual learning opportunities
Crisis & Responsive Communication
- Support timely and accurate communication during urgent or sensitive situations
- Collaborate with district leadership to ensure clear and consistent messaging
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, education, or related field required
- Experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or related fields preferred
- Strong writing, storytelling, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience managing digital communication platforms (social media, websites, content creation)
- Ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups
- Experience in public education or community engagement preferred
