Job Description

Do you have what it takes to be the next Economic Benefits Manager? The Economic Benefits Manager is responsible for the management of the Work First Cash Assistance, Work First Employment Services, and Child Care Subsidy programs. This position provides leadership, strategic direction, and oversight in the delivery of services, policy development, program planning, budget preparation, and staff supervision. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively manage staff, collaborate with community partners, and support program initiatives. The position prepares and oversees contracts and develops community resources for all assigned programs. It works collaboratively with other agency programs and services and requires the ability to build and maintain partnerships with businesses, agencies, and community organizations to assist families in achieving self-sufficiency. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include ensuring all programs meet state and local goals by planning and organizing workflow, developing work objectives, realigning workloads to improve staff efficiency, assessing business processes, evaluating program capacity, and determining resource needs. The position ensures compliance with policies and procedures while establishing program performance standards, evaluating staff effectiveness, and maintaining accountability for program outcomes. This role is responsible for providing continual coaching, feedback, and leadership development to staff through meetings, conferences, and evaluations, as well as recommending disciplinary actions when appropriate. Responsibilities also include participation in recruitment efforts, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations for vacant positions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to effectively communicate with staff, leadership, community stakeholders, and external partners. This position is not a 100% remote work position; however, a hybrid work schedule may be available depending on performance after six (6) months of employment and maintaining good working status. NOTE: A criminal background and credit check will be conducted. Employees actively support and participate in department emergency preparedness and response activities, which may include temporary changes in responsibilities and working hours.
