Lifeguard - Community Enrichment

POSITION: Community Enrichment Lifeguard
 
JOB SUMMARY: We are looking to recruit an observant lifeguard to ensure the safety of visitors to our aquatic facility. The lifeguard will explain safety rules to patrons, warn them about unsafe situations, and enforce policies. The Lifeguard will play an instrumental role in maintaining orderliness by inspecting swimming pool areas, locker rooms, restrooms., and monitor and report any concerns. To ensure success you need to assess situations swiftly and make judicious decisions regarding the safety of swimmers. Top candidates are excellent communicators, swift, and safety-minded.
 
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Degree required.
• CPR/First Aid required.
• Lifeguard Certification required.
• Preferred Lifeguard experience.
• Successful completion of all required online health/safety courses.
• Experience working in a school setting and with others from diverse backgrounds.
• Meet the guidelines set by the Woodhaven Brownstown School District. (Includes: drug screening/criminal background checks).
• Must be available:
  • Friday 6:00 p.m. � 9:00 p.m. at Brownstown Middle School
  • Saturdays 9:00 a.m. � Noon at Woodhaven High School
  • Sundays Noon � 4:00 p.m. at Woodhaven High School

 
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May include but not be limited to):

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
• Ensures proper cleaning, storage and maintenance of all equipment and supplies.
• Ensures appropriate behavior in pool area.
• Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes.
• Professionally represent the school and the district in interactions with students, parents, community and staff.
