Reports to: Trading and Contract Management Director
What We Need from Yü
- Ownership of the volume forecasting methodology, incorporating changes required to meet industry change.
- Management of hedging strategies, ensuring they meet requirements of a changing risk landscape.
- Leading on the analysis of volume and commodity price forecasts, understanding the differences between forecasts and outturn, and making methodology changes as required.
- Ownership of commodity risk modelling, reporting and insight.
- Continuous improvement in processes - Identify and implement opportunities for automation, leading to improvements in speed and accuracy.
- Liaise with the Trading and Pricing teams to ensure wholesale energy costs and risks are accurately reflected in prices.
- Nurture and develop the analytical capability of the Trading Risk team and broader Trading Department.
About Yü
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the energy industry, in a Trading, Commercial, or finance focussed role
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills; with an understanding of statistical modelling.
- Experience of electricity and gas commodity markets
- Knowledge of Market-Wide Half-Hourly Settlement (MHHS)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Self-motivated with an ability to work independently
- Experience of supporting the development of analytical teams
