JOB DESCRIPTION: Position Title: Project Manager 1-2 Reports To: Product Group Director, Dampers Position Summary: Responsible for driving and managing the execution of projects, initiatives throughout all stages of the project process following established global, regional, and PDC B,C category projects within the Dampers product group. This position will lead cross-functional teams to ensure project deliverables through the project lifecycle. This position may be filled at the Project Manager 1 or Project Manager 2 level based on candidate experience, demonstrated competencies, and the scope and complexity of assigned projects. Essential Functions: Manage project schedule and budget. Able to stay within project costs, quality, and timing commitments. Support driving and directing cross-functional teams and coordinating multi-functional activities to meet milestones and deliver projects on plan. Build, prioritize, and manage the project backlog to maximize value delivery in line with business case and milestones. Drives escalation, decision ‑ making, and resolution of critical issues, including scope, timing, and investment trade ‑ offs, to ensure project success Owns creation, maintenance, and execution of business cases, including financial assumptions, trade ‑ offs, and value realization throughout the project lifecycle Develop project life cycle management strategy on assigned projects to enable fulfillment of CoC STRAP commitments. Coordinate and participate in assigned project(s) relating to productivity or product introduction. Participate in process improvement projects as needed. Conduct management updates and PDC reviews. Provides strong direction, decisions and actions, including adjustments to project to ensure successful completion. Motivate others through positive interactions. Listens to others and provide feedback while managing the flow of project information and task completion. Ensures alignment of work packages within the project are aligned between customers, stakeholders, and team members. Position will interface with customers and stakeholders Truly accountable for the product Effective at conveying ideas Leadership and ability to influence Knowledge: In-depth understanding of business and management processes needed for successful project completion. Accomplished in organizing, managing, and completing projects/product launches to measurable targets. Understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, including phase-gate approaches. Technical knowledge relative to business, management principles, and business case methodologies. Knowledge of product launch and project management tools including Planisware, Teamcenter, SAP desired Exposure to major functional and cross-functional business processes and related metrics. Specifically, as they relate to the product commercialization cycle (Engineering, Operations, Financial, Marketing, and Sales). Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in project management focused on supply chain, engineering, manufacturing, or product development PMP certification preferred. Experience in an automotive or transportation environment preferred. Skills: Ability to budget and to consider different budget strategies when involved in making decisions on the Project Management team. Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word etc). Cross-functional time, task, and resource management. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and assist in managing conflicts on project teams. Experience with presentation skills – including preparation or presentation and the use of different presentation media and techniques. Strong oral and written communication skills; capable of formal and informal discussions; has a professional presence. Has the ability to think and act in a structured way. Works effectively to tight deadlines regardless of possible setbacks and stress. Capable of managing up and down matrix organization. Highly-motivated and able to assist in motivating and providing direction for the Project Management team. Excellent tactical and evolving strategic problem-solving skills. Ability to recognize what type of Project Management tool is required in the given situation and to adapt appropriately. Has displayed leadership with the project management team and is seen as a leader by management and peers. Understanding of Bendix business processes. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering required Project Management Professional (PMP), Bendix Project Leadership Professional (PLP), Agility or equivalent preferred. The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Avon, OH is $75,900–$134,900 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Bendix Commercial Vehicel System] is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year.
