Job Title: Data Specialist

Location: Remote with occasional work from our Colombo office

Working days and hours : Monday to Friday - 2PM - 11PM 


Job Summary

 

The individual will be responsible for managing the data entry (BOM creation) team, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of BOMs across various platforms and systems, including ERP, Development BOM, and Excel. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as the person will regularly engage with our offices in the USA and China on matters such as problem-solving, process improvement, and governance meetings.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Create initial BOMs for new products during the development stage, based on design specifications provided by the product development team. 
  • Update existing BOMs for products in the development stage according to feedback and changes from the product development team. 
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of BOMs across platforms and systems, including ERP, Development BOM, and Excel. 
  • Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to BOMs, and communicate them to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner. 
  • Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and support contingency management for processes handled by the team. 
  • Enter and update sell prices in the DevBOM system, submit to Apprise, and verify data accuracy in the Apprise system. 
  • Upload PLC templates into the PLC system and verify corresponding entries in the Apprise system. 
  • Run macros, review data for errors or inconsistencies, and correct any incompatibilities. 
  • Maintain and update records while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. 
  • Prepare and organize documents for data entry. 
  • Generate standard reports and summaries as required. 
  • Respond to data-related queries and requests from internal teams. 
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure data accuracy and completeness. 
  • Organize and maintain data files to ensure easy access and retrieval.


Job Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in data entry management and ERP systems.
  • Strong data entry, data management, and basic data analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with BOMs, PLM systems, or similar tools is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fastpaced, deadlinedriven environment.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to work night shifts (EST) as required to support U.S. headquarters.
  • University degree or higher diploma in a related field (Management, Marketing or IT).
