Job Profile Summary
This role focuses on activities related to revenue cycle operations such as billing, collections, and payment processing. In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Revenue Cycle Leadership duties: Controls, directs, and participates in the activities of the organization through a hierarchy of managers and supervisors. Responsibilities also include long-term strategic planning, determining the policies of the organization, and allocating its resources and making decisions regarding organization growth and diversification to accomplish entity's vision. A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reports. A role that directs a department or small unit that includes multiple teams led by managers and/or team Leaders. Responsibilities typically include: ownership of short to mid-term (1-3 years) execution of functional strategy and the operational direction of the Department, problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis, and requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership
Job Overview
The position oversees the daily operations of the Clinical Referral Specialists and associated supervisors. The Director is the accountable leader driving operational excellence for the clinical referral process, interfacing with multiple stakeholders to ensure patients from Tufts Medicine Medical Group (TMMG), Tufts Medicine Integrated Network (TMIN), and non-affiliated clinicians have access to Tufts Medicine’s clinical expertise. The Director will reduce inefficient operations that delay access to care, cause bottlenecks in referral management, and prevent referral outcomes from being shared with relevant partners. This role supervises the Clinical Referral supervisors and reports to the Executive Director for Navigation to Care.
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
1.Bachelor’s degree
2.Seven (7) years of access center experience and three (3) years of management experience within a healthcare access center
3. Epic Cadence Certification or obtain within two years of hire

2. Five (5) years of management experience within a healthcare access center
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Oversees the clinical referral process to eliminate delays to care and achieve other key performance indicators
2. Enables patient-focused, customer service-driven culture, ensuring compassionate, high-quality experiences in every referral interaction
3. Demonstrates Epic referral and work queue expertise, including report generation and training programs for clinical referral team and allied stakeholders
4. Implements tactics to achieve growth and other goals for TMMG
5. Supports roll out of new Epic functionality in partnership with Access Informatics and Network Outreach
6. Coordinates with IT and phone/technology systems to troubleshoot issues, optimize workflows, and enhance referral tracking
7. Coaches, mentors, and develops staff in preparation for increasing responsibilities or optimizing strengths within role
8. Develops all competencies for the department, ensure staff adherence
9. Adheres to the standards identified in the Center’s Organizational Competencies.
Physical Requirements:
1. Professional office environment with typical office requirements such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
2. This is largely a sedentary role, which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending / descending stairs, and operate office equipment.
3. Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate, and exchange information.
4. Able to see and read computer displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
5. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

1. Ability to read and write in the English language.

Pay Range:
$122,301.82 - $155,933.24
