
Technical Writer – Warehouse Automation / WMS Domain

Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer with strong Warehouse Automation and Supply Chain domain expertise to create, validate, and maintain high-quality technical documentation for warehouse execution and fulfillment systems.
The ideal candidate must not only structure and write documentation effectively, but also possess deep functional understanding of warehouse operations and systems such as:
- WMS (Warehouse Management System)
- WES (Warehouse Execution System)
- WCS (Warehouse Control System)
- Pickwall Management
- Robotic Picking
- Print & Apply
- Sortation Systems
- Replenishment
- Decant Management
- Picking workflows
- Conveyor and automation integration
This role requires the ability to independently validate operational workflows, identify documentation gaps, and collaborate with product, engineering, QA, implementation, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Documentation
- Create, review, and maintain:
- Functional specifications
- User guides
- SOPs
- API documentation
- Configuration documents
- Integration guides
- Release notes
- Troubleshooting manuals
- Training material
Warehouse Domain Validation
- Validate technical content against actual warehouse operations and business workflows.
- Ensure documentation accurately reflects:
- Picking flows
- Replenishment processes
- Inventory movement
- Robot-assisted operations
- Sortation logic
- Labeling and print/apply workflows
- Exception handling scenarios
Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Product Managers
- Solution Architects
- WMS/WES/WCS Consultants
- QA Teams
- Warehouse Operations Teams
- Automation Engineers
Process Understanding
- Understand end-to-end warehouse workflows including:
- Inbound
- Putaway
- Picking
- Packing
- Sortation
- Shipping
- Replenishment
- Cycle count
- Decanting
Content Quality
- Improve documentation structure, consistency, and usability.
- Ensure documents are technically accurate and operationally meaningful.
- Participate in solution walkthroughs and requirement discussions.

- Visio / Lucidchart / Draw.io

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact with technical and operational stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in warehouse automation or supply chain software companies.
- Exposure to robotics and automation systems.
- Understanding of integration between ERP, WMS, WES, and WCS platforms.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and event-driven workflows.
- Experience documenting configurable enterprise platforms.

Nice to Have
- Experience with Manhattan, Blue Yonder, SAP EWM, Körber, or similar WMS platforms
- Exposure to robotics vendors and AMR systems
- Experience in ecommerce fulfillment or distribution centers
