Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed Podiatry Physician (DPM) or appropriately trained Physician (MD/DO) to provide on-site podiatric care to residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. The physician will manage complex foot and ankle conditions, perform procedures, and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
• Provide on-site podiatry consultations in SNF/LTC settings
• Diagnose and manage foot and ankle disorders including diabetic foot disease, ulcers, infections, and nail pathology
• Perform podiatric procedures including nail debridement, callus care, wound debridement, and minor surgical procedures as indicated
• Evaluate gait abnormalities, biomechanical issues, and deformities impacting mobility and fall risk
• Collaborate with nursing, wound care teams, therapy, and primary providers to prevent complications
• Educate residents and caregivers on foot hygiene, preventive care, and footwear recommendations
• Ensure accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant documentation in EMR systems
Qualifications
• Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited school of podiatric medicine OR MD/DO with podiatric scope of practice
• Completion of an accredited podiatric residency program preferred
• Active and unrestricted New York State license
• DEA registration (if applicable)
• Board Eligible or Board Certified (preferred)
• Experience in SNF/LTC or post-acute care settings preferred
