Job Description

Proudly located in the Queanbeyan Network of Schools, Bungendore High School opened for the first time in 2023 for Years 7 and 8 on a temporary site while the permanent location is being built. The permanent site is expected to open for Day 1, 2027. The school grows by one year group each year until we have our full complement of Year 7 to 12. In 2026, we will have Years 7 to 11 with approximately 210 students and 7% of students with Aboriginal or Torres Strait backgrounds. Located 30 km from Canberra in a rapidly growing rural area, it is a short distance from Canberra International airport and a short drive to the South Coast or Snowy Mountains.

Bungendore High School’s permanent site will have modern facilities and will provide an inclusive, responsive and supportive environment that allows each individual to develop to their potential.

  • Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with emotional disturbance, autism, behaviour difficulties, mild and/or moderate intellectual disabilities and/or other complex learning and support needs (Secondary).

  • Proven quality classroom practice with knowledge of effective and inclusive teaching pedagogy to cater for the diverse range of abilities within a support classroom.

     

  •  Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate quality personalised learning and support plans that reflect the needs and aspirations of the unique context of each student.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants
