Job Description
Narrandera Public School, with an enrolment of 268 students, including 121 Aboriginal students, is in the township of Narrandera on the Murrumbidgee River on the traditional lands of the Wiradjuri people. Narrandera Public School is a learning focused school in which staff expertise and positive relationships with students and their families are prioritised as key factors that can contribute to growth in student learning. There is a mix of beginning and experienced staff who are committed to engaging with professional learning to support the implementation of the Strategic Improvement Plan. Approval to teach K-6 and approval to teach Primary Library, or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
Ability to learn and effectively use Oliver, the primary school library management system, including understanding budget processes, technology use, and the organisation of library resources.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across the school, help colleagues access information, and stay up-to-date with the latest information management and information technology trends.
Proven ability to evaluate, select, acquire, catalogue and maintain a diverse range of high-quality resources in multiple formats, including digital tools, online databases and print collections, to support curriculum implementation, inclusive of Aboriginal Culture and Histories, High Potential and Gifted Education, and diverse student learning needs.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
This is a permanent part-time position of 3 day per week, 0.6FTE (full time equivalent)
A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
