Working day to day beside C-Suite Executives for one of the largest employers in the world takes a special kind of HR Business Partner. Being more than just a consultant to your client groups and providing input on the HR implications of strategic and operational decisions and plans is what sets this HRBP apart from the rest. 

The Sr. Manager, HR Business Partner will support and be based in Erlanger, Kentucky. This role leads a team of HR Business Partners and serves as a strategic advisor to multiple business groups within DHL Express -US.

The Senior HR Manager is a strategic people leader responsible for advancing talent initiatives, strengthening organizational culture, and driving HR operational excellence to enable business growth and performance. This position supports and partners with the full spectrum of the employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, recruitment, compensation recommendations, talent development, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, and offboarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  •   Lead and develop a team of HR Business Partners, providing coaching, direction, and performance feedback to support high-quality HR service delivery.
  •   Serve as a strategic consultant to business leaders, providing guidance on HR implications of organizational strategies, operational decisions, structure changes, and cultural initiatives.
  • Partner with leadership to align HR strategy with business goals, identifying priorities and translating business needs into impactful HR solutions.
  • Guide and influence management on the people agenda, driving improved performance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
  •  Provide expert counsel on employment legislation, HR policies, and best practices to ensure legal compliance and consistent application.
  •   Maintain a strong focus on employee relations, performance management, engagement, and retention, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
  •  Partner with leaders and leverage HR Centers of Excellence to anticipate workforce needs on recruitment, talent planning, and organizational development strategies.
  •  Partner and support with HR activities across the full employee lifecycle including workforce planning, recruitment, compensation and salary proposals, performance management, development, engagement, offboarding, and labor relations in collaboration with COEs and Shared Services.
  •  Use HR analytics to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and influence data-informed decision-making.
  •  Champion process improvements, scalable HR practices, and innovative solutions to support business growth and operational excellence.
  •   Develop and deliver clear, compelling communications and presentations for executives, employees, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  •  Stay informed of industry trends, HR innovations, and labor regulations to ensure compliance and maintain best-in-class HR practices.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8–10 years of progressive HR experience; OR a Master’s degree with at least 8 years of related HR experience.
  • Professional HR certification (PHR/SPHR or equivalent) preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading HR teams and partnering with senior leaders in a matrixed or complex organizational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment legislation and HR compliance requirements; experience with labor relations is a plus.
  • Exceptional ability to analyze complex issues, interpret organizational needs, and use sound judgment in providing guidance and recommendations.
  • Strong negotiation, influence, and business‑acumen skills with the ability to partner effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Leadership competencies include collaboration, innovation, partnership, and adaptability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment and remain effective under pressure.
  • Strong English communication skills: written, verbal, and interpersonal with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel approximately up to 30%.
