Job Purpose: 

Refine and implement best local / sub-regional Travel category specific strategies. Work closely with local procurement teams to ensure identify and recommend "best in class" suppliers and maintain good. Prepare and support supplier negotiations at local level. Ensure to build and maintain a seamless & state of the art Business Travel ecosystem for DHL Travelers in the region.


Your Tasks:

  • Conduct sourcing tenders and lead difficult negotiations with regional, national and international suppliers. Understand the business travel market dynamics and maintain good working relationship with key travel suppliers, hotels and other travel related service providers.
  • Develop and align a regional business travel category strategy supported by market intelligence and business partner direction
  • Seek out opportunity to improve the business travel program for the region and increase compliance of travel booking in line with the Travel Policies.
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of relevant supply markets, vendor trend analysis and compliance
  • Develop and implement regional sourcing strategies, utilizing sourcing practices, under the guidance of corporate sourcing and with the input of country procurement and business partner engagement.
  • Establish and manage good working relationships with corporate sourcing and country management (procurement and others) to optimize their spend in relation to corporate initiatives.
  • Maintain understanding of regional business sector and resulting business travel demand.
  • Drive regional standardization in line with corporate standards, provide ongoing support to country and regional stakeholders (procurement and others).
  • Select, develop and manage best in class business travel partners
  • Contribute to the definition of supplier assessment criteria. Drive ongoing assessment of supplier performance and provide formal feedback including leading quarterly business reviews.
  • Define action plans with suppliers to meet corporate and regional objectives.
  • Deliver supplier and contract related communication to internal stakeholders in corporate sourcing, countries and businesses.
  • Negotiate and manage suppliers to identify and deliver benefits of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor ongoing benefits tracking and compliance assessments to achieve optimal competitiveness and cost savings.
  • Conduct regular supplier & market benchmarking.
  • Achieve identified key performance indicators including savings and managed spend ratio, supplier performance, savings target achievement, business partner satisfaction and spend compliance.
  • Guide regional category teams for the Procurement category Business Travel.


Your Profile:

  • 4-6 years  of experience in Procurement & Travel Management, preferably in Travel demanding organization similarly sized as ours with sourcing colleagues, operating management and business partners
  • Proven experience in sourcing and negotiating medium to high spend contracts.
  • Proven experience in sourcing and implementing a regional Travel Agency incl. OBT, experience implementing Concur Travel is of advantage as well as implementing central payment programs
  • Degree in Business Administration, International Management, or a related field.
