Position Overview
The Long-Term Care Pharmacy Shipping Associate supports the day-to-day shipping activities of the pharmacy by preparing medications for delivery, verifying shipment accuracy, and assisting with departmental operations. This position works closely with pharmacy and shipping team members to help ensure medications are organized, packaged, and delivered according to established schedules. The successful candidate will demonstrate reliability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
What You'll Do
- Ensure medication deliveries are prepared accurately and ready for shipment within established timelines.
- Review and confirm that medications are assigned to the correct facility packaging and distribution bins.
- Prepare outbound shipments by packaging and organizing medications to maintain product integrity during transport.
- Follow facility route information and shipping guidelines to support efficient order fulfillment.
- Complete all assigned shipping activities while maintaining quality, accuracy, and productivity standards.
- Partner with pharmacy and shipping team members to address questions, concerns, and workflow challenges.
- Participate in department initiatives aimed at improving processes and operational effectiveness.
- Assist with the creation, organization, and maintenance of department tools, forms, and workflow documentation.
- Adapt to changing operational needs and perform additional duties as assigned by the Shipping Supervisor or designated leadership.
- Support the overall success of pharmacy operations through teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail.
Qualifications & Experience
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clear driving record.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of experience in shipping, fulfillment, warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations preferred.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, or long-term care setting is a plus.
- Familiarity with shipping procedures, route organization, and order verification processes preferred.

Physical Demands & Working Environment
- Regular movement throughout the work area is required to support shipping and operational activities.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, and grasping may be necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Position requires the use of fine motor skills for handling, packaging, and verifying medications and shipping materials.
- Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods during the workday.
- Must be able to maintain productivity, accuracy, and attention to detail in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.
