Perform a variety of technical support activities for hydroprocessing catalyst technologies, including but not limited to Fixed Bed Resid, Ebullated Bed Resid, and Distillate Hydrotreating.
The successful individual will provide technical service, develop technical proposals, and support catalyst loadings and unit startups.
The position is remote work primarily based in North America.
Responsibilities
- Act as the main technical contact for all assigned customers in the region.
- Prepare, organize, and lead customer site visits for technical reviews and data updates. This includes interpreting operating data to monitor catalyst performance, recommending operating guidelines, analyzing and leveraging R&D data to recommend applications tailored to customer needs, and estimating catalyst life.
- Plan and lead in-plant shutdown and startup assistance, including catalyst loading and sulfiding consultation.
- Support customers by addressing operating questions and providing process troubleshooting, strengthening customer relationships.
- Support R&D efforts by providing unit operating data and analyzing R&D results to apply to customer‑specific situations.
- Prepare technical estimates for proposals and present them to customers.
- Work may also include plant test runs and presenting industry technical papers.
- Work safely in refinery environment.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients to sell the value of our technology.
- Ability to present data, findings, and technical proposals to all levels of customer management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote work environment, with the ability to travel as required (up to 40%, typical 20–30%).
- Knowledge of refining technology, operations, and economics, with the ability to develop value propositions and communicate them effectively to customers.
- Understanding how equipment functions in the field and overall plant operations.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and manage multiple work activities to meet customer needs and expectations required.
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals of varying experience levels, roles, and cultural backgrounds.
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 10+ years’ refinery experience with an understanding in hydroprocessing design, operations, kinetics, and data analysis
- Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card), if not already in possession of one.

- Knowledge of hydroprocessing specific equipment
- Knowledge of FCC operations and specific equipment
