Residence Life at CU Boulder encourages applications for the Temporary Residential Engagement Coordinator! This position is a live-off position with administrative, educational, leadership and advising responsibilities. The primary purpose of this role is to support student engagement in the residence halls, assist student leader cultivate a sense of community and belonging through event planning and the application of the residential curriculum in first-year, continuing or graduate and family communities.
The Division of Student Life consists of 36 departments that provide student support and services dedicated to helping students become successful, curious, competent individuals during their time at CU Boulder.
Residence Life
Residence Life provides residential communities that support student success and enrich the learning experience outside the classroom. By supporting students, engaging them in community, and leading the residential environment, we create spaces where students connect with others, explore new perspectives, and grow throughout their time at CU.
Community and Leadership Development
- Coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate educational, academic, and social programming as per the residential curriculum.
- Maintain budgets and other fiduciary responsibilities.
- Promote a collaborative student-centered residential environment that supports the academic mission of the institution.
- Intentionally pursue avenues for infusing academic connections and learning experiences in the residential environment for all students.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff within academic programs (RAPs, and LLCs) to strengthen academic partnerships and linkages.
- Actively seek out opportunities for student leadership and involvement, including advising Community Council, and supporting RHA and NRHH initiatives.
- Support emerging initiatives that build community, cultivate a sense of belonging, and develop students, as well as the overarching goals of the department.
Supervision & Performance Management
- Coach, mentor, supervise, holds accountable and develop staff to become effective student leaders, and conduct all performance reviews and coaching sessions as appropriate.
- Support recruitment, hiring, and training processes for student and professional staff and actively seek opportunities for equitable practice in all facets of human resource development.
- Facilitate residence life communication efforts across all community staff positions.
Operations & Administration
- Maintain regular interaction with Facilities, Environmental Services, Dining, and University Housing.
- Oversee the safety and security of a residential environment.
- Coordinate processes such as community move-in and move-out.
- This position serves as a mandatory reporter for Clery reportable crimes and all University policies.
External Relations
- Serve as a good steward and representative of Residence Life on university working groups.
- Partner proactively with Student Life and university offices to support the needs of students.
- Assist with student retention and persistence efforts.
This position is full-time working Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with some nights and weekends. Hybrid schedule may be available within team guidelines.
The hourly pay for this position is $23-24/hr.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
- One year of direct professional experience working with college student.
- Master’s degree in College Student Development, Higher Education Leadership, or related field from an accredited university.
- Experience in dedication to diversity and intercultural competence.
- Experience developing and implementing academic initiatives or residential curriculums.
- Experience with student conduct and crisis management.
- Experience with supervision, budget management, advising and divisional collaboration.
