Position Summary:

This position will be a split role (approximately 50/50) supporting the Marketing Partnerships group with both account management and operational needs across partner communication and engagement, employee onboarding and education, internal group organization, and cross department collaboration and integration. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Partnerships
    • Assist in the fulfillment of partners' full sponsorship portfolios across NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, NBA 2K League, Basketball Africa League (BAL) and/or USA Basketball (USAB) properties
    • Build effective working relationships and strong consensus with key NBA constituencies including: sub-departments within Global Partnerships, Events, Media, Content, Public Relations, Legal, Licensing, Social Impact, Team Marketing & Business Operations, Player Marketing, and Live Programming & Entertainment
    • Support the management of day-to-day partner activation processes, including: activation planning and approvals, promotional development, media planning, financials, advertising creation and approval, event coordination and results tracking which will require collaboration across multiple departments
    • Develop and leverage strong relationships and build credibility with external partners and their lead agencies
    • Serve as day-to-day contact on partnership matters ranging from contractual deliverables to activation strategy
    • Manage budgets and expenses for marketing partners including assisting in the annual budget planning process; this includes fluency in our financial reporting and pipeline management system
    • Provide partnership expertise in the comprehension of contractual elements and understanding of partners' marketing/business goals, objectives, target audience and competitors
    • Execute against partnership goals and success metrics, implement a measurement system and plan for monitoring effectiveness and providing regular reporting
    • Support in identification of areas of opportunity and develop upsell proposals for partners throughout the season
  • Operations
    • Work with Operations team to organize employee education meetings and offsites
    • Update new hire onboarding process by working with a team to build materials and coordinate training and development for new members
    • Coordinate Marketing Partnership team meetings and work with MP leadership to build agenda
    • Responsible for internal document tracking and updating including account team lists, partner lists, etc.
    • Create a library of document templates for the Marketing Partnerships team to utilize for various purposes including executive communication, prep materials, etc. 
    • Support group’s financial tracking and budgeting such as department purchasing cards, budgets for development activities, etc.
    • Support cross department collaboration and integration with internal departments within Global Partnerships and Media, Events, Public Relations, Legal, Marketing, Social Impact, Team Marketing & Business Operations, Player Marketing, and all affiliate leagues.
    • Coordinate communication with partners including relevant partner press releases and key tentpole communication
    • Work closely with Partner Services on all Marketing Partnerships hospitality including the organization of invite lists, seating recommendations, gifting, etc.

Required Education/Professional Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in either Marketing, Communications, Business Administration or Organizational Management preferred or relevant experience
  • One (1) year of professional experience in relevant field (marketing, advertising, sponsorship, operations, or brand management)

Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:

  • Strong organizational skills and business writing/written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Relationship management skills both internally and externally, adapting to department cultures and leadership styles
  • Must be highly motivated, proactive, self-starter with high energy and team spirit
  • Ability to forecast issues in projects, troubleshoot, and problem solve with internal constituents

Salary Range:

$75,000 - $85,000
