Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Environmental & Facilities Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Engineering Manager – Facility Projects to lead and support facility-related projects across the United States and Puerto Rico.

This role provides oversight of a national team of engineers and project managers responsible for delivering facility projects including expansions, renovations, and facility equipment renewals. Projects span Headquarters in Plano, Regional Sales Offices, and Parts & Vehicle Distribution Centers, requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration.

This position plays a key role in supporting the Environmental & Facilities department’s mission to deliver best-in-class project management, construction oversight, and building design services. The Engineering Manager will ensure projects are planned and executed to meet quality, cost, schedule, and safety KPIs, supporting Toyota’s Sales, Parts, and Vehicle Distribution operations nationwide.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide technical leadership and support to Sales, Parts, and Vehicle Distribution sites in the areas of building design and construction, including the development and maintenance of building-related standards.

  • Develop and maintain design criteria across multiple disciplines, including architectural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, civil, and structural systems for buildings, trailer yards, and parking facilities.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for light industrial, manufacturing, and commercial facilities, supporting local facility teams and providing technical oversight during project submittal and execution phases.

  • Apply expertise in pre-construction planning, project management, construction, and building design to ensure projects are delivered in alignment with quality, cost, schedule, and safety KPIs.

  • Build strong customer partnerships by fostering clear communication, alignment, and consensus to effectively support business and operational needs.

  • Develop and implement internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) and shikumis (work instruction sheets) to improve consistency, efficiency, and knowledge sharing across the organization.

  • Lead and manage a national team of engineers and contingent workers, providing coaching and mentoring to strengthen project management and construction capabilities.

  • Ensure team performance meets or exceeds project KPIs (Safety, Cost, Schedule, Quality) across the full project portfolio.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical degree or 5+ years of equivalent professional experience in construction and/or facilities management

  • Experience in building design and construction for light industrial and commercial facilities

  • Experience in building systems including industrial mechanical systems, including piping, chilled water, compressed air, and related utility systems

  • Experience managing large-scale capital construction projects, from pre-construction through closeout

  • Working proficiency with engineering and project management tools, such as Microsoft Project or similar

Added bonus if you have

  • TBP panel completion

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • OSHA 30 certification

  • Demonstrated experience with industrial power systems, including switchgear, power distribution systems, and 480VAC and higher electrical infrastructure
