The Montana Department of Revenue administers nearly 40 state taxes, oversees property appraisals, and regulates alcohol, cannabis, and unclaimed property programs. The Cannabis and Alcohol Regulation Division enforces regulatory laws, distributes distilled spirits, and promotes responsible use of alcohol and cannabis.

DUTIES

Job Overview:

This position resides in the Cannabis and Alcohol Regulation Division of Department of Revenue. Duties include assembling store orders using an electronic pallet jack, ensuring orders are picked accurately, and pallets are assembled properly to minimize breakage during shipment. The incumbent in this position reports to the Unit Manager and receives guidance from the Warehouse Lead. This position does not supervise other staff.

This is a temporary seasonal position. Employment will not exceed June 30, 2027.

Special Requirements

Eligibility for employment will be subject to the following:

  • Criminal Background Check. Circumstances involving convictions will be reviewed.
  • Tax status must be current. Circumstances involving tax status issues will be reviewed.
  • Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing. Due to the nature of the position, individuals will be subject to controlled substance and alcohol testing. 
  • Prospective employees to whom an offer of employment has been made will be required to undergo controlled substance testing. The employment offer is conditional upon receipt of a negative controlled substance test. 
  • Controlled substance and alcohol testing may also be required immediately following an accident when reasonable suspicion exists or as part of a follow-up to a previous incident.

 

Working Conditions

  • Work hours may exceed 40 hours from time to time, including weekends.

  • Warehouse environment.

  • Lifting is consistent throughout the shift up to 50 pounds and carrying product several feet. 

  • Some travel may be required, must have a valid driver’s license.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

The above competencies are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to:

· High school diploma, GED certificate, or equivalent

· One-year experience in a warehouse operating a forklift, electric and manual pallet jack, personal order scanner and dock leveler.

· Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
