Position Overview

Assists in the development, maintenance, and use of pricing models and assumptions for group life, accident, accidental death and dismemberment, special risks, with the ability to provide technical peer reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Performs pricing and ad-hoc department projects as needed and called upon.
  • Provides technical peer review of pricing and department projects as needed.
  • Provides assistance with development of assumptions for pricing. Works to enhance pricing models.
  • Provides actuarial documentation of pricing projects and tools in compliance with actuarial standards of practice.
  • Presents work products through various outlets including external clients, internal meetings, and industry meetings. Summarizes and communicates findings, results, and contextual information with clear and impactful messaging appropriate to audience and purpose.
  • Foster and energize positive collaboration with key stakeholders, such as pricing, business development, underwriting, new business initiatives, risk management, external clients, etc.
  • Participates in internal and industry committees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) degree or equivalent experience in Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Data Science or related field
  • 7+ Years of actuarial experience in group life insurance
  • FSA designation
  • Advanced PC and technical skills, including database applications (Access, Oracle, SQL or equivalent technology), spreadsheets, statistical programs and actuarial software.
  • Advanced written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by all stakeholders, including other RGA associates.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to work effectively with different disciplines, including pricing, investments, accounting, systems, and administration.
  • Advanced ability to model various insurance products and reinsurance structures.
  • Advanced ability to perform and evaluate experience studies.
  • Advanced project management skills. Demonstrates an ability to evaluate project objectives and scope for feasibility and understanding.
  • Highly advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Highly advanced knowledge of group life and accident products.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives.
  • Ability to work independently and to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects

Compensation Range:

$117,730.00 - $175,450.00 Annual

Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
