Animal Hospital of Lewisville is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT preferred) to join our growing small animal veterinary hospital. Animal Hospital of Lewisville is a full-service small animal veterinary practice providing comprehensive care for dogs and cats across Lewisville, Clemmons, Winston-Salem, Pfafftown, Mocksville, and Rural Hall, NC.

- Digital radiography (X-ray), ultrasound & advanced imaging

- Laser therapy for pain management
- Urgent care & sick visits
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Provide safe, low-stress animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with exams, diagnostics, and treatments
- Administer medications (oral, topical, injectable) with accurate documentation
- Support veterinary pharmacy operations and prescription fulfillment
- Perform laboratory procedures including blood, urine, and fecal testing
- Prepare patients for surgery and anesthesia, including monitoring and recovery support
- Maintain a clean, organized veterinary hospital environment
- Monitor and support hospitalized and boarding patients
- Communicate effectively with the veterinary team to ensure efficient workflow
- Provide client education on medications, preventive care, and discharge instructions
- Take initiative and contribute to a team-oriented veterinary environment
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Minimum of 1 year veterinary experience (Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician) preferred
- High school diploma or GED required; veterinary technician students encouraged to apply
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred (North Carolina licensure)
- Strong understanding of veterinary clinical workflows and patient care standards
- Experience with animal restraint, phlebotomy, diagnostics, and lab procedures
- Familiarity with surgical preparation and anesthesia support strongly preferred
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced veterinary clinic
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout shifts
- Comfortable working in a clinical environment with animals and medical exposure
- Proactive and dependable in a fast-paced veterinary setting
- Strong team player with clear communication
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality patient care
- Passionate about client education and animal health
- Motivated to learn and grow within veterinary medicine
- Flexible scheduling available
- Rotating Saturdays required (shared fairly across the team)
