Sr. Optical Engineer

Design, develop, and test optical systems for a wide range of applications, from concept to production. Analyze system requirements and translate them into optical system and component specifications. Conduct optical simulations using appropriate computational tools, such as Zemax, Code V, FRED, LightTools, etc. Validate optical system performance through bench top and real-world testing. Review and interpret these performance results and make appropriate adjustments. Provide optical expertise to support multidisciplinary design teams. Collaborate with mechanical engineers to develop optical-mechanical integration strategies. Oversee fabrication and assembly of optical components and systems, ensuring quality and compliance with specifications. Work closely with project management to meet or exceed project deadlines, budgets, and quality criteria. Write comprehensive technical documents, including test plans, test reports, design descriptions, and verification and validation plans. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optical engineering to ensure innovative approaches to problem solving.
