Job Description

Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Alongside our global campuses, we also collaborate with talented contractors and freelancers from all over the world to help us achieve our crazy big goals. While we support flexible, remote-friendly ways of working, for this role we’re focusing on Mexico City, Mexico, so we can best support our teams and keep collaboration flowing.

This role is a 12-month engagement, working full-time hours.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Partnering with the Country Localisation Lead to shape Canva’s voice across all areas of the product in Spanish (MX)
  • Translating and reviewing key product and marketing content while managing relationships with localisation partners and vendors
  • Developing and maintaining style guides, glossaries, and translation memories to ensure consistency and quality
  • Providing cultural insights and localisation recommendations to improve the user experience for Mexican audiences
  • Assessing machine translation and AI-generated language outputs to maintain high-quality local experiences
  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across marketing, subscriptions, content, and localisation to deliver impactful initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities to improve localisation workflows, tooling, and quality processes at scale

You're probably a match if:

  • You’re an exceptional writer and communicator in Spanish (MX), with a strong understanding of tone, localisation, and cultural nuance
  • You’re passionate about language, creativity, and helping users experience products in a way that feels natural and empowering
  • You thrive in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments and enjoy taking ownership of projects and outcomes
  • You have experience working with CAT tools and localisation platforms (experience with Smartling is a bonus)
  • You bring strong attention to detail and can confidently review, evaluate, and improve translated content
  • You enjoy collaborating cross-functionally and building relationships with stakeholders across different teams
  • Bonus points if you have experience with SaaS localisation, SEO, copywriting, or design tools like Canva

About the team

In Mexico, our mission is to empower all Mexican people to design and to make Canva one of the most loved and culturally iconic brands in the country. We see an enormous opportunity to accelerate Mexico’s creative economy, uplift millions of creators, and position Mexico as a regional creative hub.

As part of Canva’s International team, you’ll help shape experiences that resonate deeply with local communities while contributing to Canva’s crazy big goals globally.
