Job Description

We are looking for a Sr. Marketing Program Manager to serve as the primary steward for Nielsen's largest, most complex, integrated marketing campaigns. This is a strategic orchestration role for someone who thrives at the intersection of structure and ambiguity, and who can hold a complex campaign together while keeping stakeholders aligned, informed, and moving forward. In this role, you will be the campaign quarterback — the single point of accountability for integrated program delivery across the Marketing teams. You will also play a critical role in helping to design and implement a Phase Gate/Agile framework for how Nielsen manages its high-impact marketing campaigns, moving the organization from ad-hoc execution to a structured, repeatable delivery model.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Program Leadership:

  • Program Ownership: Lead and manage complex, cross-functional marketing programs from kick-off through post-mortem, ensuring alignment with global business strategy.
  • Roadmap Management: Manage program roadmaps, resource allocation, and timelines with high autonomy. Consolidate comprehensive project timelines and integrate functional workstreams into a unified master schedule, capturing dependencies and hand-off points between teams.

Operational Excellence & Execution:

  • Data-Driven Insights: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program success and provide data-driven insights for strategic planning.
  • Operational Innovation: Drive for continuous improvement within the Marketing organization by identifying and implementing process improvements and new solutions to recurring problems.
  • Process Development & Implementation: Support development of marketing operations process, such as an integrated marketing framework that defines standardized milestones, approval gates and processes, and decision processes. Implement and champion marketing operations processes to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Workflow Centralization: Drive the migration of campaign management workflows into a centralized system, ensuring high adoption rates and the establishment of standardized operational practices across the global marketing organization.

Cross-functional Organization & Collaboration:

  • Organizational Communication: Act as a key bridge between senior management and operational teams, translating strategic goals into actionable workstreams.
  • Align & Influence: Foster strong collaboration across diverse teams, utilizing advanced communication skills to influence stakeholders and drive consensus on program direction.
  • Documentation Management: Manage single-source-of-truth critical campaign documentation, such as campaign briefs, content calendars, budget trackers, and KPI dashboards in an easily accessible, centralized location.

Expertise & Problem Solving:

  • Technical Acumen: Apply specialized depth and breadth of expertise in marketing operations to solve advanced technical and analytical problems.
  • Risk Management: Anticipate potential project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted program delivery.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 10-15 years in Marketing Program Management, Marketing Operations, or Technical Program Management with experience managing global campaigns or programs.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Possession of advanced degrees or relevant professional certifications, particularly in Human Centered Design, is strongly preferred.
  • Language: Native or professional-level English proficiency is mandatory, as this role supports a global team and requires extensive documentation in English.
  • Technical Proficiency: Highly skilled in project management and enterprise tools, such as Jira, Smartsheet, Google Suite, Looker Studio, Salesforce, GA4 or similar
  • Adaptability & Resilience: Thrives in fast-paced and highly dynamic environments, navigates ambiguity, and organizes chaos into structure and order.
  • Self-Directed Initiative: Operates with high autonomy as a proactive self-starter, identifying process improvements and initiating campaign planning with minimal or no supervision.
  • Structured Problem Solving: Analytical thinker capable of resolving issues systematically; knowledge of 8D methodology is a plus.
  • Influential Leadership: Proven ability to lead and align diverse cross-functional teams through influence and by fostering trust and credibility.
  • Financial & Technical Acumen: Deep expertise in managing budgets and establishing robust KPIs and performance metrics. Highly proficient in leveraging project tracking and workflow tools such as Jira and Smartsheet.
  • Ownership & Accountability: Takes full responsibility for program outcomes, driving execution to ensure projects are delivered accurately and on schedule.
