Job Description

Building: Hoover Elementary School

Position: 2nd Grade Elementary Teacher | FTE 1.0

SPECIFICS: 

  • 10-month, Full Time, 1.0 FTE.
  • Elementary ZE Endorsement
  • Reports to: Building Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS.

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in area of responsibility with appropriate endorsement.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in area of major study.
  • Highly Qualified in accordance with No Child Left Behind Guidelines.
  • Knowledge and/or understanding in consistent use of data to monitor student growth, inform instruction, and develop interventions.
  • Experience in differentiated instruction, Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports Systems, and individualized programming options for students.
  • Ability to integrate technology into the curriculum.
  • Superior communication skills in writing and speaking with all levels of management and staff.
  • Applicants must be able to show proof of a satisfactory criminal background check as defined by state standards.

RESPONSIBLILITIES.

  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
  • Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
  • Provide grades and administer assessments timely.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Provide on-going communication to parents on student progress and classroom activities.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures.
  • Practice proper classroom management techniques.
  • Engage students in learning process, differentiate as needed.
  • Other duties as directed.
