District Technology Support Specialist
Full Time - 260 Days
Exempt Position
Summary of Position
Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the District's electronic network, computer and software systems, and Information Technology (IT) systems in order to support the District's operations and instructional program.
Qualifications
- *Assists in the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and use of technology hardware and software for the District.
- *Provide user training, assistance, and support for the full range of educational and District operational technology applications and data reporting responsibilities.
- *Assists in the Maintenance of all documentation related to the District's network and technology system.
- Develop and maintain positive school-community relationships and timely communications.
- Assists in the recruitment, selection, retention, and development of IT staff when requested.
- Work in conjunction with student services to provide support for assistive technology services for instructional programs and support for special needs students in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and/or other District-authorized accommodation plan.
- Assist in the development and implementation of professional development programs and orientations/training for District staff.
8. *Assist with all necessary data collection, record keeping, and reporting as required by the Ohio Department of Education, the United States Department of Education, and the District.
9. Assist in the requisition of all material, supplies, and equipment as needed to carry out program.
10. Assist in the planning and implementation of the District technology plan.
11. *Maintain a high level of knowledge and proficiency with the District hardware, software, and networking infrastructure, as well as new/emerging technologies and applications.
12. Monitor, manage, and maintain Chromebook inventory and perform hardware repairs on student and staff devices.
13. Assist technology staff in the maintenance of servers, data closets, and classroom Chromebook carts.
14. Assist with installation and maintenance of phone, camera, and printing systems.
15. Assist with the maintenance of POS equipment.
16. Assist technology staff with Network Video servers and associated cameras.
17. Assist and maintain Layer 1, cabling, drops, and physical infrastructure including 20 data closets.
18. Assist Coordinator of Technology and other support staff as needed.
19. Meet the professional expectations of attendance, suitable attire and decorum, participation in school and District meetings/functions, and support of District initiatives.
20. Respond to specific requests from the Superintendent on matters affecting the instructional program, technology, and operations of the District.
