What You’ll Do:
The Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) is a paid, billable service role within OhioRISE Care Coordination that utilizes lived experience with behavioral health challenges, substance use, and/or system navigation to support youth and families. The PRSS provides strengths-based, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented support to promote engagement, self-advocacy, and successful participation in services.
This role is an integral member of the Child and Family Team (CFT) and works in collaboration with Care Coordinators and other providers to support individualized care planning and service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (Adult or Family Peer) through the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
High school diploma or GED required.
Demonstrated lived experience with behavioral health, substance use, or caregiving within child-serving systems (e.g., mental health, child welfare, juvenile justice).
Ability to use lived experience in a professional, recovery-oriented manner.
Strong communication and engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with youth and families with complex behavioral health needs.
Knowledge of OhioRISE, wraparound, and high-fidelity care coordination principles.
Experience participating in Child and Family Team (CFT) processes.
