Job Description

Job Summary

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for leading, developing, and managing the QA team at Neumo. This role requires a balance of people leadership and technical credibility — you will guide a team of QA professionals through complex, multi-jurisdiction software testing cycles while owning the processes, standards, and culture that define how quality is delivered. The goal of this role is to ensure that our QA function operates with consistency, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset across all product lines.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop QA team members, including performance reviews, goal setting, career development, and day-to-day coaching
  • Own QA team capacity planning, workload distribution, and testing assignments across release cycles
  • Define, document, and continuously improve QA processes, workflows, and release readiness standards
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Software Development, and Release Management to align on scope, timelines, and quality gates
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for QA team blockers, cross-functional conflicts, and release risk
  • Define and track team metrics that measure quality, testing coverage, and operational effectiveness.
  • Drive hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts for QA talent in partnership with HR and senior leadership
  • Advocate for QA priorities and resource needs with leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Ensure adherence to all company QA procedures, policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with QA technical leadership to ensure tooling and automation strategies are operationally viable and team-executable
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications
  • Previous QA experience required; 4+ years preferred
  • Experience leading or managing a QA team, or serving as a primary QA point of contact; formal people management experience preferred
  • BA/BS degree in a technical, data-related, or business field preferred; equivalent work experience considered
  • Solid understanding of software application testing, defect tracking, and release workflows
  • Experience operating across multiple products or features simultaneously, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Familiarity with test automation concepts; ability to understand and support technical QA decisions without necessarily being the hands-on practitioner
  • Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality (confidentiality agreement required)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop QA professionals at various experience levels
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and manage team capacity across parallel workstreams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting quality status and risk to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to identify process gaps, build structure around them, and drive adoption across a team
  • Experience using defect tracking, project management, and reporting tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Office)
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret QA metrics and translate them into actionable improvements
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable operating as both a partner and an advocate in multi-team environments
Work Environment
  • Office setting with a moderate noise level.
  • The employee will work at an individual workstation, using a telephone and computer.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to remain seated for extended periods.
  • Regular use of a computer and other office machinery, such as printers and copy machines.
  • Occasional movement around the office.
  • Frequent communication via telephone.
