Brief Role Summary
The Production Supervisor leads daily production operations while developing a high-performing team focused on safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.
This role goes beyond supervising production — it requires a leader who can anticipate challenges, improve processes, and build engaged teams that consistently deliver results. The supervisor partners closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations and drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead & Develop People
- Supervise and coach a team of 20+ production associates
- Establish clear expectations and accountability for safety, quality, and productivity
- Provide consistent feedback, recognition, and performance coaching
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees
- Foster a positive, respectful, and performance-driven team culture
Drive Operational Execution
- Execute daily production plans to meet customer and operational targets
- Plan and organize work priorities, staffing, and workflow
- Monitor performance metrics and address gaps proactively
- Collaborate with Plant Manager and Plant Coordinator to anticipate operational needs
Ensure Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe working environment aligned with OSHA and internal safety standards
- Enforce company policies fairly and consistently
- Submit timely incident documentation and corrective actions
- Promote a safety-first culture across the production floor
Improve Processes
- Investigate operational deviations using root-cause analysis
- Implement corrective and preventative actions
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and team effectiveness
Administrative Leadership
- Review and approve timekeeping, overtime, and payroll adjustments
- Maintain accurate documentation related to team member performance and operations
- Communicate effectively across shifts and departments
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking high-potential individuals who want to build a long-term career in operations leadership. This role is designed as an entry point into Genesis’ operational leadership pipeline, with the goal of developing future Plant Managers and business leaders.
Strong candidates may come from manufacturing, operations, business, engineering, supply chain, or other fast-paced environments where leadership, problem-solving, and accountability are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent professional experience
- 0–5 years of professional work experience
- Demonstrated leadership potential through academics, internships, projects, athletics, military service, or early career roles
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both frontline employees and leadership
- High level of ownership, initiative, and learning agility
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field
- Internship or work experience in manufacturing, logistics, operations, or analytical roles
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or process optimization
- Experience leading projects, teams, or initiatives (formal supervision not required)
