DMC Breakfast Attendant
Durango Mountain Club (DMC) is a private club for homeowners and certain guests located at Purgatory Resort in Durango, CO. Our standards for excellence are high, as our members expect a high class experience and a smiling face first thing in the morning when they come in for breakfast. We are currently seeking a team member whose experience and availability matches our summer needs: Thursday through Sunday, 7am to 11am. While we prefer experienced applicants, we are open to training the right person for this role.
General Purpose
The Breakfast Attendant plays an important role in creating a welcoming and elevated start to the day for DMC members and guests. This position requires punctuality, attention to detail, organization, and a hospitality-focused mindset.
The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for arriving at 6:30 AM to prepare and thoughtfully present the continental breakfast service prior to opening at 7:30 AM. Throughout breakfast hours, this role ensures all items remain fully stocked, clean, fresh, and attractively displayed while maintaining high standards of sanitation and presentation.
At the conclusion of breakfast service, the attendant properly stores food items according to health code standards, cleans and resets the space, and ensures the dining area is fully prepared for lunch service. Success in this role is demonstrated through reliability, cleanliness, presentation quality, teamwork, and positive member and guest feedback.
Job Description
Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Arrives punctually
- Sets up and monitors quality and presentation of continental breakfast items
- Ensures restaurant adherence to health and sanitation standards
- Assists staff when needed
- Carefully puts away food per health code standards
- Cleans and leaves the area ready for lunch service
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Prior experience in a service industry environment
- Works well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Great communication and coordination skills
- Can work AM’s on weekends and holidaysExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education or Formal Training: High school diploma or equivalent
Material and Equipment Directly Used: Cleaning agents, clothes, Kitchen Service-ware
Working Environment/ Physical Activities: Indoor mountain restaurant environment. Over 70% of the work day is spent walking and standing.
Frequently balancing, stooping, reaching, and handling objects. Frequently lifting and carrying objects up to 65 pounds.
