The Summer Intern – Digital Software Engineering (OptiRun Connect) is responsible for supporting the development of digital platform capabilities within Cytiva’s OptiRun Connect ecosystem. The role contributes to software engineering, system design, and digital innovation initiatives that improve how internal service organizations manage content, users, and system functionality.
This position reports to the Director, Digital Edge, IT/OT & Security and is part of the Digital Solutions / OptiRun Connect team located in Uppsala, Sweden and will be an on-site role
What you will do:
· Develop and enhance features for an administration portal enabling service teams to manage content, events, and users independently
· Contribute to backend and data structure design to support scalable platform functionality
· Support integration of Cytiva equipment into the OptiRun Connect environment for testing and validation purposes
· Participate in Agile development processes, executing defined backlog tasks and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams
· Explore and prototype solutions involving AI, automation, and modern developer tooling
Who you are:
· Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
· Demonstrated experience in software development (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar programming languages)
· Availability to work full-time during the summer internship period (approx. 8–10 weeks)
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
· Web development, backend systems, or database design
· AI, automation tools, or developer productivity platforms (e.g., Copilot, workflow automation tools)
