Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting the people operations of United Anesthesia Services—a private, physician-owned anesthesia practice with approximately 460 employees, including anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and corporate staff. This position is responsible for administering core HR functions across the employee lifecycle while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, employment law, and organizational policies.
The HR Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees, providing guidance on HR policies, employee relations, performance management, and benefits administration, while supporting a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Support
- Serve as a point of contact for employees and leaders regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
- Work in conjunction with Senior Administrator to support employee relations matters, including coaching, documentation, investigations, and performance improvement plans, in collaboration with legal counsel and HR consultant as appropriate.
- Promote a respectful, professional, and compliant work environment across clinical and administrative teams.
Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding
- Support the Talent Acquisition Manager regarding job postings, candidate coordination, onboarding, and new-hire orientation processes.
- Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes through Paycom, ensuring accurate documentation, system access, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Act as liaison with Coronis Health Provider Enrollment team for all credentialing for CAQH for billing.
HRIS & Data Management
- Maintain accurate employee records in Paycom, including job changes, compensation updates, benefits eligibility, time-off tracking, employee documents upload.
- Assist with HR reporting, audits (such as ACA tracking), and data analysis to support workforce planning and compliance.
- Partner with payroll and finance teams to ensure accurate employee data and timely processing.
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Support benefits administration, including enrollment, life events, and employee education.
- Assist with leave management, including FMLA, short-term disability, and other statutory or company-provided leaves, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of HR experience, preferably within a healthcare environment (hospital, physician practice, anesthesia group, or similar).
- Hands-on experience using Paycom as an HRIS, including employee records, reporting, and workflow management.
- HR certification required or strongly preferred, such as:
- SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP
- PHR / SPHR
- Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, wage and hour laws, and healthcare compliance considerations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting physicians, CRNAs, or other licensed healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with multi-site or hospital-based staffing environments.
- Experience supporting employee relations matters in collaboration with senior leadership.
