Job Description
General Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Department of Mental Health is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to fill the role as an Environmental Service Specialist II to keep the buildings in a clean and orderly condition by maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the building.
Please Note: This position is part time, 20 hours per week, M-F 8:00am-12:00pm, with some flexibility to be determined with hiring manager. Days off are Saturday and Sunday
Duties and Responsibilities (These duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive):
· Cleans and disinfects all lavatories; cleans office areas, conference rooms, windows/sills, hallways, stairwells, foyers, general space.
· Refinishes floors by cleaning, stripping, waxing and buffing using approved chemicals and procedures to ensure floors retain a nice-looking appearance and equipment and machinery are operated following safety standards; clean and maintain equipment properly per manufacturer instructions.
· Dispose of rubbish by pushing trash carts to receptacle locations in all areas to ensure trash is removed daily for sanitary control and safety purposes.
· Maintain inventor and control over housekeeping supplies and material and ensure proper storage.
· Clean and maintain carpeting by using vacuum cleaners to remove debris, utilizing carpet cleaners to ensure pot free material.
· Performs related duties as requested.

· Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
· Physical stamina and endurance.
· Knowledge of the methods followed in building custodial work.
· Knowledge of the types and uses of materials, tools and equipment used in building custodial work.
· Given the population we serve, bilingual or multilingual fluency

Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have at least 6 months of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in
work involving custodial maintenance and/or housekeeping or building maintenance.

Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
