POSITION SUMMARY:


The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating purchasing, planning, warehousing, distribution, and forecasting activities to optimize cost, service, and operational efficiency. This role ensures material availability aligned to production needs while driving continuous improvement across supply chain processes. The position plays a critical role in enhancing customer service, improving inventory performance, and supporting business growth through effective supply chain strategies.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Lead demand planning and supply planning activities to ensure timely availability of materials and products aligned with production schedules and customer demand
  • Monitor forecasts, capacity plans, and order trends to proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Establish, track, and drive key performance indicators (KPIs), including Days of Inventory (DOI), supplier on-time delivery (OTD), WADPO, and schedule adherence
  • Teach and implement a PFEP utilizing MRP and Kanban systems where appropriate
  • Analyze inventory performance to improve turns, reduce excess and obsolete inventory, and optimize service levels
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Quality to align supply chain execution with business objectives
  • Serve as Pillar Lead for the AMP Supply Chain Pillar within Cleveland Operations, driving strategic and cross functional alignment via continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to drive cost savings and performance improvements
  • Lead supplier performance management through regular reviews, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of ERP (SAP) data, including item master, BOMs, and planning parameters, to support MRP effectiveness
  • Develop and implement standardized processes and best practices across purchasing, planning, warehousing, and inventory control
  • Design and optimize supply chain strategies to support growth, scalability, and changing market conditions
  • Oversee material flow, inventory control, receiving, and warehousing operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve safety
  • Drive accountability across the supply chain team to meet performance expectations and business goals
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members; provide guidance to less experienced employees as needed
  • Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean and process optimization efforts
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Bills of Materials (BOMs), MRP, and production planning 
  • Proven track record of improving supply chain performance and driving cost savings 
  • Experience in supplier management and contract negotiation 
  • Familiarity with Lean (KANBAN, PFEP), continuous improvement, or process optimization methodologies preferred



EDUCATION : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business or Supply Chain Management 

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Strong proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and supply chain analytics tools

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position is primarily on-site and is performed in a combination of office and manufacturing environments, with frequent presence on the shop floor. The role requires regular cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Leadership teams.


The manufacturing environment may involve exposure to varying noise levels, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of a production facility. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas.


While performing the essential functions of this role, the employee may be required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems. The position may require occasional lifting and movement of materials consistent with job responsibilities.


The role includes occasional presentation and communication responsibilities to executive leadership, including participation in quarterly business reviews. The employee must be able to communicate effectively and observe conditions necessary to perform essential job functions.
