Job Description
The Department of Biological Sciences is seeking a Lab Manager. This job includes elements of laboratory management, including purchasing supplies, maintaining equipment, and training researchers (e.g., in lab safety, equipment use). The position also requires technician duties, mainly in animal care and maintenance (frogs) and in performing molecular work and/or organizing data. Because there is animal care involved, the position will include some weekend and holiday work requirements.
Manages day-to-day laboratory operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Works with, adapts, and installs scientific equipment in research laboratories. Collaborates on routine projects and procedures. Manages inventory and equipment and performs budget functions.

Must be able to sit, stand, and use a computer for an extended period of time. Must be able to ambulate across campus as needed. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
