The Education Abroad Office invites applications for the Temporary Administrative Assistant position! The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Finance, Marketing & Outreach, Program Management, and other Education Abroad teams. Work includes clerical duties, some outreach events, scheduling, Excel work including the creation of budgets, reports, and rosters, etc.

Education Abroad is a unit within International Education in the Office of Undergraduate Education within the Division of Academic Affairs, at the University of Colorado Boulder. The mission of this unit is to develop, operate, and maintain a comprehensive portfolio of global education programs for CU Boulder students and academic units, including study abroad, domestic programs, international student exchanges, international internships, faculty-led Global Seminars and Global Intensives, and international research and service learning. The unit is responsible for health and safety and risk mitigation for students going abroad on CU Boulder sponsored programs, and oversees campus support for the International Travel Registration process.
Finance Team support
  • Process expense reports
  • Build provider program budgets
  • Travel Tracker uploads
Marketing and Outreach support
  • Class visit communications and scheduling
  • Represent Ed Abroad at 10-12 Global Seminar info sessions
Program Management and Admin support
  • Process info session sign-in sheets
  • Pre-departure orientation support
  • Support student acceptance processes for complex programs
  • Help build faculty-led program departmental reports
  • Update program dates & itineraries in student application system
  • Cover back-up front desk shifts
Academics Team support
  • Process course evaluation forms
  • Break down transcripts from batch PDFs to individual student files
  • Develop proactive course evaluation reports
Other projects as assigned
This role will typically work 35-40 hours per week, during regular university hours (Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm). Some evening work for outreach events might be required. This position will follow a hybrid schedule and is required to be in person 3 days in office, with the option to work 2 days from home most weeks. The first couple weeks of training will be fully in person.
The pay for this position is $24.00 per hour.
Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant administrative experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with internet-based applications and databases
  • Ability to work cross functionally with large teams in a collaborative environment
  • Willingness and ability to use and further develop Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and Lookup formulas
  • Strong dedication to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly organized, with ability to prioritize multiple tasks, track details and meet deadlines
  • Experience working in higher education, international education, or student services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An interest in the field of international education
  • Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations in a professional, courteous and friendly manner
