Position Summary
The Senior Payroll and Benefits Analyst combines payroll expertise with benefits administration and reconciliation to ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing and effective employee benefit management. This role oversees payroll systems, benefit enrollments, billing reconciliation, reporting, and process improvement, serving as a key link between HR, Finance, Operations and external providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll oversight: Serve as lead/back-up support for payroll processing, review, and reconciliation, ensuring payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
- Benefits reconciliation and administration: Administer and reconcile employee benefits, including health insurance and other deductions.
- Data maintenance: Maintain accurate employee, payroll, and benefits records in Paycom, including regular audits to ensure data integrity across payroll, deduction, and enrollment records.
- Coordination: Partner with HR, Accounting, Operations, and external vendors/providers to ensure payroll and benefits processes align with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- System Maintenance: Serve as a key Paycom resource by maintaining payroll and benefits system configurations, supporting deduction and earnings code setup, testing enhancements, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with system upgrades and process improvements.
- Reporting: Develop, enhance, and maintain payroll and benefits reports in Paycom to support management and operations leadership, improve visibility into workforce data, and identify trends, discrepancies, and process improvement opportunities.
- Acquisition & Onboarding support: Support acquisitions, new building transitions, and onboarding activities by coordinating payroll and benefits setup, validating employee data, assisting with conversions, and helping ensure smooth integration into existing systems and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- CPP, FPC, CEBS, or related payroll/benefits certification preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in payroll processing, benefits administration/reconciliation, compliance, reporting, and HRIS/payroll systems.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, payroll tax regulations, labor laws, and employee benefits administration.
- Strong proficiency in Paycom or similar payroll/HRIS platforms, along with Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing preferred.
