Maintenance Technician I

1st Shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday

$18.00 - $24.00/hour DOE

RESPONSIBILITY:

Repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and performs preventative maintenance procedures as directed. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. Will also take direction from the Maintenance Group Leader or the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. 


JOB DUTIES:

  • Committed to ensuring the achievement of continuous improvement within area of expertise, as well as areas of business in order to remain at the forefront of meeting Company objectives, thus proactively satisfying customers. 
  • This position mandates that all required safety classes, trainings, and certifications be completed and maintained within the specific position/department. 
  • Is aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how they contribute to the achievement of the quality objectives. 
  • This position requires an employee to work their regularly scheduled shift; ability to work overtime and weekends. 
  • Must be aware of and comply with related IATF/ISO procedures, as applicable. 
  • Must meet qualitative and quantitative standards for the position and department. 
  • Assist Maintenance department assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment. 
  • Help inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. 
  • Assist in the repair/replacement of defective equipment parts, using hand tools, power tools, and reassemble equipment. 
  • Help to diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance procedures as directed. 
  • Assist maintenance workers as directed. 
  • Assist in resolving problems, delays, and difficulties. Notify supervisor if problems arise. 
  • Perform basic mechanical repairs and ensure work is completed according to assigned schedules. 
  • Understand and carry out routine written and oral instructions and work. 
  • Complete stock requisitions to maintain maintenance supply inventories. 
  • Complete all job assignments in an expedient manner, considering personal and coworker safety. 
  • Assist Maintenance Department members in the repair of manufacturing equipment. 
  • Assist in the removal of snow. 
  • Is trained and participates as a member of Company’s Fire Brigade Team.

EDUCATION / SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three (1-3) years related experience and/or training in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess high mechanical ability.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

  • Position requires individual to be capable of traveling & working throughout the entire facility, within reasonable accommodation. The noise level is usually moderate.
