Job Title: WDM Service Engineer

Job Location: Prague

Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and motivated WDM Service Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will provide technical expertise and support for optical transport solutions, primarily focusing on WDM (DWDM/OTN/ROADM) networks. You will work closely with customers, partners, and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions, ensure customer satisfaction, and continuously grow your technical expertise.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for WDM network equipment (knowledge of MW is an advantage).
  • Support projects across their lifecycle: preparation, pre-sales technical support, solution design, lab testing with customers, and delivery together with the implementation team.
  • Deliver Level 1 technical support services for Carrier and Enterprise customers, independently or in cooperation with Level 2 support teams.
  • Act as a trusted technical partner, building and maintaining strong customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct trainings and knowledge-sharing sessions for customers on Huawei WDM equipment, troubleshooting methods, and best practices.
  • Pursue continuous professional development through internal and external trainings.


Requirements:

  • Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Optical Transport technologies: WDM, OTN, ROADM.
  • Familiarity with Microwave (MW) theory and products is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of IP technologies and related protocols (Routers, Switches, ARP, STP, VLAN, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, QoS, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Huawei WDM equipment; Huawei certification is an advantage.
  • Cisco certification and/or scripting skills (bash, Python, etc.) are a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively. Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn new technologies. Strong communication and presentation skills for interactions with internal teams, partners, and customers.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in optical transport or IP networking.
  • Fluent English is required; Czech is preferred.
