For more information, visit: https://www.ifc.org IFC is seeking a Country Officer, based in Singapore to support and help coordinate IFC’s activities across Singapore and Brunei. The role has a strong focus on (i) business development and market mapping, (ii) government engagement and relationship management, (iii) event coordination and strategic engagement, (iv) planning and execution of senior management missions and visits, and (v) front-office administrative and operational support. The Country Officer will work closely with the IFC Country Manager, country team, industry colleagues, communications, and other World Bank Group (WBG) counterparts, and will interact regularly with private sector partners, government counterparts, and other stakeholders. Duties and Accountabilities • Business development and market mapping: Contribute to implementation of IFC’s country strategy and work program, including cross-sector business mapping, pipeline tracking and follow-up; conduct research on priority companies and sectors (profiles, basic financial analysis, relevant integrity/IDD inputs as applicable) to identify potential investment and advisory opportunities and South-South/outbound investment themes; support the country team’s engagement on relevant policy/regulatory developments and government-led initiatives affecting private sector investment; monitor relevant economic, policy, and regulatory developments in Singapore and Brunei for the benefit of the country team. • Government engagement and relationship management: Help maintain strong relationships with relevant government entities, development partners, and key platforms; support coordination of government outreach and dialogue (including meeting preparation, briefings, notes, and follow-up) in line with IFC/WBG priorities; support WBG thought leadership and knowledge sharing activities aligned with IFC’s strategy; coordinate responses to incoming stakeholder requests and ensure appropriate follow-through. • Events coordination and strategic engagement: Support planning and delivery of IFC Singapore Hub thematic initiatives/flagship events and business development engagements (including activities in Brunei); manage end-to-end logistics (venues, vendors, partners), invitations/registration, run-of-show, and on-site execution; prepare event materials (draft agendas, speaker invitations, session outlines, panel questions, talking points) in coordination with industry and communications colleagues; liaise with sponsors, partners, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery within budget and deadlines • Planning and execution of senior management missions and visits; reporting support: Support organization of IFC/WBG senior management visits and missions, including itinerary development, stakeholder mapping, scheduling of internal/external meetings, briefing books, logistics, meeting notes, draft talking points, and back-to-office reports (BTORs) as required; contribute to periodic country updates/briefs and other management reporting by consolidating inputs, maintaining trackers and drafting sections as needed. • Front office administrative and operational support: Provide front-office support to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the country office/hub activities, including coordination across teams, tracking of deliverables, scheduling support, and other administrative tasks as needed; perform other duties/projects as assigned. • Operational risk, compliance and information management: Support required operational processes and clearances in coordination with relevant teams (e.g., integrity/IDD coordination as applicable, vendor/partner due diligence steps for events and engagements, and internal approvals); maintain orderly records of key stakeholder engagements, mission materials and event documentation in line with WBG/IFC information management practices.
