Job Description
Job Title: Registrar
Exemption Status/Test: Nonexempt
Reports to: Principal
Dept./School: Splendora Junior High
Primary Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining student academic records at the campus level under minimal supervision. Process student enrollment, transfers, and withdrawals for the campus. Create transfer transcripts, input all Credit Recovery and Reach Grades and some Dual Credit grades, fill all test scores (stickers), input ARD exemptions, process requested transcripts, PEIMS coding process, register documents for government use - SSI CS, Disability; process grade reports; update passwords and information in Skyward for parents throughout the year.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
Ability to use software to develop or maintain spreadsheets and databases and do word processing
Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills
Basic math skills
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
1 years clerical experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records, Reports, and Correspondence
- Maintain student academic records and process requests for information and transcripts. Process new student records, including requesting transcripts and records from other schools.
- Coordinate grade reporting process, including verification and correction of grades and preparation and distribution of report cards.
- Calculate grades and prepare honor rolls.
- Assist counselors with the enrollment, withdrawals, and transfer of students.
- Assist campus administration and counselors with the preparation of reports and student data information (ex. truancy, attendance, etc.)
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records and other documents as required.
Other
- Plan attendance incentives.
- Attendance reports, daily attendance, parent and doctor notes input into Skyward.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Attendance Letters
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting, carrying heavy boxes of files
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Work with interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
