Job Description

The Office of the Clerk’s Legislative Computer Systems (LCS) division is seeking a motivated intern interested in technology, public service, legislative operations, and modernizing congressional information systems. This internship provides hands-on exposure to real-world software development, quality assurance, data management, and legislative technology operations that support the daily work of the U.S. House of Representatives. You will serve as an Intern appointed on a temporary basis for a period not to exceed 120 days, unless otherwise extended in accordance with House policies and procedures. In this capacity you will assist senior developers, analysts, and testers with activities such as: Documenting legacy systems Reviewing and organizing technical and functional documentation Verifying and validating test scripts and test results Supporting software quality assurance activities Assisting with data review and validation efforts Participating in Agile team activities and product discussions Helping improve user support materials and knowledge documentation Observing how legislative information systems support the House legislative process This opportunity is well suited for students or recent graduates with strong technical aptitude and curiosity — not just computer engineering or computer science majors. Students in information systems, data analytics, political science with technical interests, information management, digital humanities, library sciences, public policy technology, or related fields are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time, in-person position, 40 hours a week, M-F.
