Advanced Direct Material Operations Buyer

What you'll be doing

• Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing, delivery terms, and quality for direct materials

• Monitor and manage supplier performance to maintain high standards and on-time delivery

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and logistics, to optimize inventory levels and minimize supply chain disruptions

• Conduct market research and analysis to identify new and alternative suppliers, and to stay informed on industry trends and pricing

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership

• Assist in the implementation of procurement strategies and policies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness

• Provide regular reports and updates on procurement activities and performance to management

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a direct material procurement or operations role, preferably within the manufacturing industry

• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities

• Proficient in using procurement software and ERP systems

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
