
Divisional Receptionist & Switchboard Operator (5991)
Job Description
SCHEDULE: 35 hours/week Monday - Friday 8:15am - 4:15pm (1 hour lunch break)
Receives and administers all incoming calls to the Main Number of the Divisional Headquarters Telephone System; records accurate and complete messages when necessary; receives and receipts deliveries; receives and announces visitors.'
Position Responsibilities:
- Telephone System Support and Receptionist Responsibilities: (90%)
- Clerical Support Responsibilities: (10%)
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to clearly and effectively hear and speak to persons directly or by telephone. Ability to effectively operate a telephone and telephone switchboard.
- Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
- Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
- Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or G.E.D.,
- And
- One year experience working with Telephone Switchboard responsibilities, with bilingual abilities (Spanish)
- preferred,
- or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience, which is considered to provide the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities.
